CLIME is a climate service developed by Regional Models and geo-Hydrological Impacts Division (REMHI) of CMCC Foundation, to provide climate data and solutions to different types of users with different backgrounds and needs (expert and not expert users). The CLIME service is useful for different types of users such as Researchers, Consultancy companies, Private firms and policy-makers.
CLIME is able to take care of the whole information production chain: from the climate data collection/storage since processing of climate data according to user needs. The processing of climate data includes bias correction and climate analyses using the high resolution climate projections.
This climatic service application aims at providing a user-friendly interactive platform that includes also tools to manage climate data for several impact studies (such as floods, drought, landslides, heat waves, etc..). The goal is to develop a “controlled application” based on the previous research activity implemented by REMHI division (all of them subject to publication or to acceptation of the buyer), avoiding an incorrect use of climate data and allowing users to carry out climate analysis autonomously on areas and variables of interest. Finally, CLIME is also aimed to support public local administration in an easier integration of climate change conditions and effects into plans and programs, such as the Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Operative Plan and the Sustainable Energy Action Plan
